New York University Wagner has opened application for the African Women Public Service Masters Fellowship, a scholarship program sponsored by The Oprah Winfrey Foundation for African Women. 


The scholarship program offers African women study in one of two graduate programs: the two-year Master of Public Administration or Master of Urban Planning or the one-year Executive MPA

These opportunity makes it possible for women in these resource-poor settings to attend the New York University Wagner, which offers an exceptional program to help women expand their Public Service in their home countries.

The awards for either program will support tuition, housing or a housing stipend (if enrolling in the Global EMPA program), travel to and from the United States, and a small stipend to cover books and miscellaneous expenses.

ALL applicants are expected to return to their respective home countries at the conclusion of the program with the goal of assuming a leadership position on the continent where they can meaningfully contribute to the challenges currently confronting Africa.

The fellowship will take place at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University, New York (NY); United States. 

The school’s admissions committee will prefer to choose women who can demonstrate commitment to public service,m who possess strong academic record, and for whom a Wagner education would significantly enhance their ability to have a deep and lasting impact on public service issues in their home country and region.
