Every year, the Awards honor five distinguished female scientists for their significant discoveries in the Life and Physical sciences. Scientists from across the world are invited to submit nominations and the final selection is made by an independent jury chaired by a Nobel Laureate.
The main aim of the research is to support, encourage and recognize the commitment and remarkable research of mid-career women in the fields of Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
The L’Óreal Scientific Scholarship for sub-Saharan Women is sponsored in conjunction with UNESCO and the African Network of Scientific and Technological Institutions (ANSTI).
The scholarships will be awarded to promote and encourage talented mid-career women scientists to pursue high-level PhD studies or post-doctoral research careers in science.
